The film is based on Medoidze’s short story Tuscany Files in which an unnamed protagonist (a writer) recounts her experience of a linguistic amnesia, of stuttering not in one’s language but in grammar. Discarded photographs from an estate agency next to the artist’s studio become an empty canvass on which the exiled person’s desires are projected, and the disjunction between words and images becomes more apparent.
