Accessibility

We want everyone who visits the LUX website to feel welcome and find the experience rewarding.

What are we doing?

To help us make the LUX website a positive place for everyone, we’ve been using the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities, and user-friendly for everyone.

The guidelines have three levels of accessibility (A, AA and AAA). We’ve chosen Level AA as the target for the LUX website.

How are we doing?

We’ve worked hard on the LUX website and believe we’ve achieved our goal of Level AA accessibility across the majority of the site. We monitor the website regularly to maintain this, but if you do find any problems, please get in touch.

This site is fully accessible for users without CSS or JavaScript. A text-based alternative is provided where images are used to show relevant text content.

All pages on the site use structured, semantic HTML5. Visual styling is provided by Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), and enhanced user interaction is provided by JavaScript.

Font sizes:

Modern browsers support either text resizing or page zooming, to allow users to increase the size of essential page content.

Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 does not support W3C standards with regard to text sizing. It is recommended that users with text resizing upgrade to a standards-compliant browser that provides text resizing or zooming.
