‘Young Eli Alinsky goes to his Holocaust survivor parents for explanations of anti-Semitic jokes which he does not understand. Although they are desperate to teach him how to cope with contemporary issues as well as the Holocaust legacy, their indirect responses only succeed in shielding the boy from his parents’ painful past. By the end of the film, Eli takes the first steps towards personally confronting the events and meaning of the War against the Jews.’ – O.S.
