A girl who has been estranged from her family for some years has to return to sort out her mother’s effects after her death. It is an unwanted inheritance. She enters a series of rooms and finds herself enmeshed in a past she thought she had left behind. The work deals with the mother daughter relationship and its formative impact on female sexual identity. How much do we internalise? How much do we leave behind? How much is a gift? How much a sacrifice?
