A cloud of illuminated midges are filmed during a nocturnal rainshower (midges are mosquito-like insects, common in rural Scotland). During filming the artist adjusts the camera shutterspeed, creating blurred trailers from the insects’ flightpaths. As the video goes on, more insects are drawn into the frame attracted by the C02 in the artist’ breath. The title of the work refers to both the sound of the insects and video noise; unwanted dots or patterns within the image.
