The title refers to an old saying derived from an anecdote about Christopher Columbus and a cardinal. The cardinal mocks Columbus’ achievements who retorts by challenging him to stand an egg on one of its ends. The cardinal fails to do so, Columbus then triumphs over him by pressing the egg down on the table so that it stands on its broken end. The point being that apparently impossible tasks can be solved by simple methods. The tape stages Columbus’ arrival in the New World and conquest of the native population. Throughout, there is a concern over the consumption of the Earth’s resources and the damage this does to the planet. The tape is characterised by a bizarre humour and sophisticated video effects.
