Shot during a hartal (general strike) in Dhaka, Bangladesh, DESH chronicles the artist’s experience of anxiety attacks and hallucinatory dreams whilst stranded for days in a hotel room during the strike. ‘Desh’, meaning land in Bengali, meditates on contested notions of home, isolation and belonging in a cultural and geographical context that feels both dissonant and innate.
