“The Western Gothic presents loop footage from a camera circling inside Horseshoe Canyon in the Badlands of Alberta. The soundtrack has three elements: a rumbling tympany drum beat, a deep male voice reading dinosaur names, and a female voice telling a story. The story is about finding a wounded cowboy in the desert and nursing him back to health. Each sentence in the story is spoken twice, the second saying switches the male and female roles in the story.” – Canadian Filmmakers Distribution Catalogue, 1988.
