Joseph Beuys is extensively interviewed by Halpern and others and describes in detail his working practices and artistic preoccupations, particularly his characteristic fascination with the elemental materials of fat and fur which saved his life after a plane crash. The tape is a vivid illustration of Beuy’s life and work and is the only comprehensive record of his New York Guggenheim exhibition, the most ambitious of his installations.
