Suburbs of Eden is the fourth in a series of works that probe the darker side of male/female relationships, growing old and life in the suburbs. It is a musical drama about the family dreams of Anne, Michael and Hannah as seen from a day in their lives. The disappointments of this contemporary family are woven into the story of Adam and Eve and the Snake in the Garden of Eden.
The songs and music provide the narrative structure and eerie atmosphere that Condit layers with dialogue, super 8 film footage and examples of a woman truly fighting for her life. The struggle for survival is not physical, but spiritual and emotional.
