An abstracted exploration of the movements of two female dancers. MacPherson presents a split-screen tableau, wherein the pair grapple, almost as though in conflict. The artist focusies in on key movements, and disclocates the viewer’s perceptions of bodily movement by only presenting fleeting glimpses of bodies in slow motion: hands, faces, backs, legs. Combined with a soundtrack composed of amplifications of the dancers’ own impacts on the floor, the overall effect is to make the viewer aware of the great efforts and physical strength which provide such a graceful spectacle.
