Distinguishing Marks

Information energy per frame. Extended exposure of each frame. Decision against framing ‘action’ (passive), yet for moving the frame itself through space. Photographed in a room. Unit of 24 (fps/hr) -film ‘built’ from 24 x 1 second segments, each of 24 ‘stretch’ exposed frames 12 x 12. Starting at a point close to the ceiling, the camera is moved, clockwise, twice, spiralling down to reach a point close to the floor in the last shot. Printed twice. November 1974.
