With references to Hiroshima and an age of pre-atomic innocence, Common Knowledge mixes spoken text, words, music and sumptuous images to create a piece which touches on myth, landscape and history. As the journey progresses – from a slow graceful move across a cornfield through a threatening nightscape to the redemptive and beautifully time-lapsed image of doves in a coot – the viewer is drawn into a story phrased in a fragmented and almost fairytale manner.
