The accretion of a single, hand-held shot of a part of a room, against a black leader. The film begins with a single frame of the room image against ten ft of black leader, until there is ten ft of room image with ten ft of black. The black spacing is then reduced out against ten ft sections of the room image (each room image a separate ‘shot’) until only the image is present. Obviously, a film with duration as much as the content but attention could also be paid to the flattening of the space brought about not only by duration but also by the slight shifting movements of the exaggerated hand-heldness. The image used was decided on for its relative reading-complexity. -J.Du C.
