Nina Thomas

Nina was born and raised in Staffordshire. She is interested in stories and histories that are overlooked or underexplored. Much of her recent work has focused on her experience of becoming deaf and subsequently seeking to understand other deaf experiences. Her work has been exhibited at The Crypt Gallery (NW1), Liberty Festival 2022, Tate Exchange (Tate Modern, London) and OVADA (Oxford). She is a founding member of The Film Bunch (a deaf and hard of hearing film organisation) where she curated an online screening event, ‘Deaf Experience’. Nina has worked on access and advisory panels at the V&A, The Wallace Collection, British Ceramics Biennial, NDACA and The British Museum. She advocates for improved access to the arts for deaf and disabled people and is a trustee of Stagetext.
