LUX London Critical Forum is a monthly group for artists who work with the moving image to explore ideas and practice in a mutually supportive environment, in dialogue with LUX and the other LUX-supported groups around the UK and Ireland. The group will meet once a month (Thursday evenings 6.45-9pm) in person at LUX in Highgate, North London and occasionally online.

The group is for artists who are no longer in full-time education and who are willing to make a commitment as a participant for the next 12 months. This is not a crit group, but rather an opportunity to think together about contemporary practice, to support each other in exploring new ideas and to build new connections. The activities of the group will be determined by the interests of the participants but will consist of individual and collaborative presentation, discussion and experiential group work.

There will be a maximum of 20 members, and participation is free. The group will be facilitated by LUX Director, Benjamin Cook.

There will be a preliminary in-person meeting at LUX on Thursday 28th September at 7pm to find out more, to discuss how the group works and what it might do over the coming year. After this meeting, you will be invited to confirm your participation in the group.

If you are interested in joining the group, please fill out the form below by 12pm on Tuesday 5 September 2023. Participants will be selected by random draw, and we will send you more information about the preliminary meeting closer to the time.

Places are limited so please only register if you really intend to come otherwise this deprives others of a place. We will send you more information closer to the time.
