New LUX association with MA Experimental Film at Kingston School of Art

LUX is excited to announce its association with Kingston School of Art’s MA Experimental Film for the forthcoming academic year. This will include a spring film theory and professional development module taught weekly at LUX’s base in Waterlow Park by LUX staff.

The course also involves screenings, discussions and various sessions promoting a theoretical and professional understanding of artists’ moving image and screen experimentation. Students benefit from the bespoke filmmaking production resources at the Knight’s Park campus, including hand-processing of 8mm and 16mm film gauge.

The programme encourages applicants wishing to work on experimentation in film, artists’ moving image, challenging documentary and archival work, new narratives and future cinema. The course also commissions ‘Random Acts’ in conjunction with the ICA for Channel 4/ACE with work placements at key London film organisations. From Sept 2017 the course will be developed into an 18 month full-time programme (with part-time options available), benefits from regular input by:

Phillip Warnell, Jacqui Davies, Ed Lawrenson, Ben Rivers, Filipa Ramos, Mike Cooter, Shama Khanna, Lucy Parker, Anne-Kathrine Bindesbøll, Richard Squires, Jessica Rinland, Davina Quinlivan, LUX. and a weekly visiting speaker programme. Field visit in 2018 to CPH-Dox and FID Marseille. Recent graduates from the programme include: Sasha Litvintseva, Graeme Arnfield, Myrto Farmaki, Maryam Tafakory, Florence Kennard, Jacob Dwyer, Anna Brass.
