White Stag (2001) is made in response to two sound works. l’Amorce des Consignes and 1/79, by Dominique Pettigand. The film is set within the confines of a desolate open-air swimming pool, where Daggers, a latter day Candide, prepares to enter the unknown territory beyond the borders of the pool. His mentor Diana, a hunting enthusiast, prompts him to question his obeyal of the laws of the pool. She encourages this feeble and indoctrinated character to make his first tentative steps into the open landscape.
