This work begins with the front cover of Time magazine, depicting a faceless woman dressed in black. This woman is Muslim and her slow movements over the headline ‘British Hostage Slain’ adds apprehension to already tense situation. This seems to be the beginning of an epic film, a great drama. Yet the video ends suddenly before any real action has taken place, without offering any resolution to the foreboding tragedy which the piece alludes to. The viewer is then left to imagine and play out the scenario ‘British Hostage Slain’ in their own head.
