The piece Suspension/Suspense is substantially different from the landscape pieces. Firstly, I was more conscious of the camera as an eye which could follow movement rather than the static field of view defined by the video monitor. I wanted the camera operator (me) to be involved in the piece as an unobserved observer. Secondly, insert edits were used to destroy what appears to be real time and pose an enigmatic presentation which is only resolved at the end of the piece. – C.R.
