A dialogue between a camera and a shaving mirror. Like Running Dog, an unedited 50 foot super-8 roll exposed without interruption and optically printed to 16 mm. My idea was to explore shifting tensions between the borders of the frame and permutations of off-screen space. I also admit the inspiration of nostalgia: to record the geography of my neighborhood during the last day of a visit to London. In this respect, Southcote Road is dedicated to all who made my stay so enjoyable. Southcote Road should be projected only at silent speed (if possible) or at slower frame rates as desire allows and time and technology permit. – D.R.
