Out of Reach documents a trip along the Tokaido railway from Tokyo to Kyoto. The work belongs to the From the Personal Observatory series. Images shot from a train window are combined with reworked images from other locations and other perspectives. At certain points, these images are shown to be presented on a video monitor. A parallel seems to be drawn between the indirectness of the images and the inwardness of Japanese culture.
