My Blood Self is a new body of work based on the idea of an editorial fashion shoot that references imagery of genocide and substandard poverty, juxtaposed with historical images from the Egyptian and Mesoamerica civilizations.

All those who have died during war in Darfur are remembered in this video painting. It takes the global issues of war and juxtaposes it against the personal. The Mexican song highlights loss of home and loved ones. This is inline with stark but emotive imagery of the red soil and red of the blood and shows the sadness of being physically connected to the earth but not to one’s own home.
