You make Marie Antoinette look like a bag lady.
David Lamelas and Hildegarde Duane extend their exploration of the figure of the dictator and the notion of exile by posing as the deposed president of the Philippines Ferdinand Marcos and his wife Imelda . Enacting their rise to power and exile to America, Lamelas and Duane imagine an eventual scenario for the Marcos, living in isolation in an apartment where Marcos grows tomatoes and his wife plans her range of lingerie products. The film ends with their annihilation in a nuclear explosion.
