Lost Place

This video is connected to the six monitor video installation “She,Her, I”. The monitors are stacked in a pyramid and reflected into a pool of water. This was shown a few times; principally in Scotland in the 80,s and 20 years later again at Streetlevel in Glasgow as part of the “Lost and Found” show in the Glasgow Art Festival.This video portrays the journey into motherhood. Being pregnant connected me to Nature, the elements, to the wide expanse of landscape, to water and the womb of the earth from where we are all born. This elemental experience brought awareness of the continuum of all, the cycle of all living phenomenon, its interdependence and its fragility.This was the trigger which brought me to realise that the connection to Nature was essential to my art practise and the need to experience this more fully. A few years later we moved to rural France.
