LIGHT OF THE MOON is an observational study of moonlight through a long continuous take and is one of the very few landscape videos which I have made without using a hand held camera. This enabled the frame edges of the camera to be positioned as if an ‘horizon line’, with the moon rising in the bottom left hand corner of the frame which continues its trajectory through the frame to the top right hand corner. The frame structure becomes a measure for the time the moon takes to move between two points within the frame. The slow movement of the moon is almost imperceptible and yet it continues to move across the frame creating an interesting phenomena and a contemplative space for the viewer.
