The Age of Amputation is a stand alone video but it is also the concluding part of The Mindset Suite. It is a poetic essay film on the future and draws parallels between war, amputation, weapons, politics, the Anthropocene, our environment and the future.The metaphor of amputation is used to respond to our disappearing world and a potential end. The work memorialises what we are losing and generates a sense of vanishing across many fields.The film is a mixture of computer animation, shot footage and found material. The voice-over is a male and female duet, often speaking together like prayers in a church.
