Roaming the cluttered aisles and dingy stairways of an old-style ironmongery business, warehouse employee ‘E’ (the film’s unseen narrator) takes us on a guided tour of the rut his working life has become. In this labyrinth of interconnected memories, triggered associations, visual metaphors and jokes, the film’s images are ‘unlocked’, ‘entered’ or ‘peeled away’ allowing access to both the warehouse’s hidden corners and the darker recesses of E’s mind.
