On & For Production: London edition 2015

October 5, 2015

Following two successful pilot editions in Brussels that took place in April 2014 and April 2015, LUX will be hosting the next On & For Production event this October.

This Europe-wide initiative aims to address the specific conditions, requirements and discourse surrounding the production of artists’ film both practically and conceptually. The two-fold event provides the opportunity for selected artists to present film projects that are in development to a selection of industry professionals in order to receive feedback and connect with prospective producers. It’s also a great opportunity for organisations, professionals and artists, who specialize in artistic film production, to meet and explore different modes of working.
The next edition of On & For Production will take place in London in the context of the BFI London Film Festival on 14–15 October. The participating artists are Louis Henderson (producer: Khiasma, Paris / Jacqui Davies, London), Michelle Deignan  (producer: Electra, London), Anouk de Clercq (producer: Auguste Orts) and Alex Reynolds (producer: CA2M, Madrid).
On & For Production will also be presenting the workshop “Distribution as Production” at the BFI Southbank on 14 October as part of the EXPERIMENTA programme at the BFI Film Festival. Included in this year’s festival program are two films previously developed through On and For Production: Crippled Symmetries by Beatrice Gibson and Lili by An van Dienderen.
This workshop will be examining distribution strategies and how they influence the production process of artists’ moving image works. Speakers include Marie Logie and Anouk de Clercq (Auguste Orts, Brussels), Alex Pugh (Independent Cinema Office, UK) and Olivier Marboeuf (Khiasma, Paris). The workshop is chaired by Maria Palacios Cruz (Deputy Director of LUX).
On & For Production is an initiative of Auguste Orts, in collaboration with LUX and CA2M with the support of Creative Europe Programme of the European Union and Flanders House, London. Visit On & For Production’s new website here:
