LUX is seeking new trustees

LUX is seeking new locally based volunteers to join its board at its new location in Waterlow Park in Highgate. LUX is a registered charity and not-for-profit company which supports and promotes visual artists working with the moving image. It builds on the legacy of its predecessor organisations, The Lux Centre, London Video Arts and the London Filmmakers Co-operative (which was based in nearby Primrose Hill for much of its existence) which was founded in 1966. LUX represents Europe’s largest collection of film and video works made by artists which it loans for exhibitions and screenings worldwide, in addition to this it organises its own exhibitions and events, supports artists, runs courses and commissions artists and research and is developing the Waterlow Park Centre as a new public space as well as its LUX Scotland office based in Glasgow.

It is currently seeking accredited museum status and is a national portfolio organisation of Arts Council England. LUX wishes to be an active contributor to our new local community and is seeking trustees with good local networks that can support this and advocate for us, we are also looking for trustees with particular specialist skills which currently include: finance; marketing; development; early years/school-age education and museums/collections –  as well as of course a passion for the arts and the public sector. The commitment would involve no more that 4 meetings a year.

We particularly welcome applicants from Black and minority ethnic backgrounds who are currently underrepresented on our board.

If you are interested or would like to know more please contact Benjamin Cook, LUX Director at [email protected] or by telephone on 020 31412965, if you would like to apply send a brief cover note and your CV also to [email protected]. Deadline for applications is 17th July 2017
