This workshop looks to desire as a way in which we could begin to think about reframing questions of need and dependency. Drawing on a number of texts, film and videos the group will discuss what might shift when we consider our own terms of agency, as artists and organisations, in line with desire rather than demand; to consider the uses of the erotic on a par with, or even instead of, more proprietary affections.
REGROUPING is the first in a new annual LUX seminar programme, marking the opening of LUX’s new building in Waterlow Park. REGROUPING will include five days of presentations, workshops and screenings with artist and writer Ghislaine Leung to generate new discussions on the relation between artists and organisations today and, through this, the current cultural politics in which we live and work.
