Are you considering working with High Definition video but are confused by the options? Are you already working with High Definition video but having technical problems? With so many different ways to film, edit, exhibit and master High Definition Video it’s no wonder it’s confusing. This day long seminar will give you the comprehensive information you need to choose the right High Definition filming and exhibiting formats for your projects. This day-long course is both suitable for artists who are new to digital video technology and for those that have some experience. Excerpts from artists’ works in the LUX collection, made with High Definition technology will used as examples. The seminar is led by artist Michelle Deignan who is an experienced post-production trainer and video editor.
The topics this seminar covers are: High Definition Video versus Standard Definition Video; High Definition file formats: aspect ratio, resolution, interlaced, progressive and frame rate options; what is digital video compression; choosing the right HD video camera; tape versus tapeless recording; computer hardware and software for editing; mastering to tape for archiving; mastering High Definition video for exhibition; choosing equipment for exhibiting and screening high definition video.
Michelle Deignan is an artist who works primarily with digital video. She has worked as a video post production trainer for broadcasting professionals, independent film makers and university students with organisations such as; VET, NATS Post Production, Clear Cut Television, London College of Communications and Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art. Michelle has also worked for a number of years as a freelance video editor, editing works for broadcast, online, corporate and film festival distribution as well as film and video works for artists, such as Marcus Coates, Ursula Mayer, Uriel Orlow, Critical Arts Ensemble and William Hunt.
