A seminar for artists and curators looking at the issues and challenges involved in commissioning artists moving image works with two of the UK’s key commissioning agencies; Film and Video Umbrella and Electra. Guest speakers will be Steven Bode, Director of Film and Video Umbrella and Fatima Hellberg, Curator of Electra. The seminar will be chaired by LUX Director, Benjamin Cook.
Professional Practice is LUX’s ongoing series of workshops, seminars and courses exploring practical issues for artists working with the moving image.
Film and Video Umbrella commissions, curates and produces film, video and other moving-image works by artists which are presented in collaboration with galleries and other cultural partners across the UK.
Electra is a London based contemporary art organisation which curates, commissions and produces projects by artists working across sound, moving image, performance and the visual arts.
