LUX and LUX Scotland is delighted to present an online participatory workshop on handheld cinematography hosted by artist and filmmaker Miko Revereza. The workshop coincides with an online screening of ‘Nowhere Near’ (2023) on our website from 7 – 16 March 2025.

About the workshop

This workshop explores cinematography through participatory and collaborative video making. It will be hosted online via Zoom and will use the mechanism of the Zoom space as a way of filming, editing, and improvising together.

We encourage you to join the workshop on a mobile device with a camera, such as a phone, a tablet, or a laptop that you can move with. To fully participate in this workshop you will need to have your camera turned on and agree to the video that you are sharing to be recorded.

The title of the workshop, ‘Whooshy experimental stuff’, comes from an offhand, self-effacing description of his style of cinematography that Miko makes during ‘Nowhere Near’.
