LUX Film Development Summer Camp

9 August, 2022
– 10 August, 2022
10am – 4pm
LUX
Walk-Through, Redmond Entwistle 2012
A two-day workshop for artists seeking to develop their new moving image project led by Benjamin Cook (Director, LUX) with Denna Cartamkhoob (LUX Producer in residence)

Working within an informal and mutually supportive small group environment, participants are invited to bring a proposal for a new moving image project to be workshopped over the two days.

The workshop will explore how to articulate new ideas, written and verbal presentation skills, placing projects and building partnerships, fundraising, exhibition and distribution strategies.

Using their own projects as case studies, participants will discuss and develop skills that can be applied within both art and film contexts, including preparing funding, residency and production award applications as well as presenting project proposals in a range of contexts. The workshop aims to build participants’ confidence and build momentum around each participant’s project.

Participants will present their projects to an invited panel of experts (details forthcoming) on the second day of the workshop. This process will provide everyone with practice in presenting in a supportive environment with feedback and questions from the panel.

There are 8 places available and the workshop is open to artists working with the moving image who are no longer in full-time education.

Participants will be required to prepare a presentation of up to 6 minutes for your project (which may include images and video) that will act as the catalyst for discussion, please bring this on a USB stick.
