LUX is delighted to be collaborating with Somerset House this weekend as part of their annual Artists’ Fair, where we will host a stall within the Artist Market selling our publications across both days of the event. We are also proud to present a screening programme that will be viewable within resident artists Sophia Al-Maria and Lydia Ourahmane’s installation ‘The Pits’, which explores how social narratives in a postcolonial and late capitalist context can affect our emotional and physical well-being.
The programme features four moving image works from the LUX collection, selected by Sophia Al-Maria and Lydia Ourahmane, which engage with the thinking and ideas behind the installation. These works will be screened four times over the course of the weekend.

The Artists’ Fair 2025
Somerset House Studios’ annual artist-led market and accompanying programme, initiated by the resident artist community, returns for a third year. The Artists’ Fair builds on its previous discussions and insights to present a responsive weekend of events addressing contemporary concerns artists are facing today.
Taking place over two days, the fair offers an ambitious programme of talks, performances and workshops, designed to share resources, explore strategies, and propose new approaches to sustaining a practice. It brings together artists, curators, and cultural practitioners to reflect on evolving modes of working and collaboration.
Breaking away from the traditional commercial art fair, the Artists’ Fair features market stalls hosted by Somerset House Studios resident artists, with 100% of the profits going directly to the artists. The stalls will offer a range of items, from unique artworks to affordable prints, publications, and wearable merchandise.
Market Stalls Opening Hours:
Saturday 7 June, 12pm – 5pm
Sunday 8 June, 12pm – 4pm
