Videos / Sean by Ralph Arlyck
USA 1969
Sean is a 14-minute interview by filmmaker Ralph Arlyck, with a four year old boy living in Haight-Ashbury, San Francisco with his hippie parents in 1969. Sean and his parents lived upstairs from Arlyck, who made this portrait of him for a filmmaking class he was doing at college.
The film won a number of wards when it was first shown and Arlyck went on to a successful career as a filmmaker. In the 1990s Arlyck returned to the west coast and made a follow-up about Sean's subsequent life called Following Sean (www.followingsean.com).
Sean is featured in our Online exhibition: Another West Coast
