In 2011, when she was offered an exhibition at the Lothringer 13 space in Munich, Hooper discovered that her father John Hooper had exhibited some of his abstract paintings at an exhibition at the gallery exactly 30 years earlier.
For Aoide, Hooper created a kind of temporary retrospective of her father's paintings. The film both portrays the gallery staff as they handle and hang the paintings, and at the same time recruits them as characters from Greek myth (the Oracle, the Muses) in a drama of fatefulness and the art of memory.
