Patrick Keiller Box Set

Keiller is best known for his features London (1994) and Robinson in Space (1997), an exploration of the economic and cultural geography of England. This DVD box set contains both these features plus the earlier short films, Stonebridge Park (1981), Norwood (1984), The End (1986), Valtos (1987), and The Clouds (1989). “In these films, Patrick Keiller scrutinizes the world around them with a rigorous and very disturbing glare. His vision is highly personal and terribly true.” Harold Pinter

When I Sit Down to Write – Two Films by Samuel Stevens

This DVD includes Sin Papeles (2005), Atlantropa (2009) and the limited edition booklet When I Sit Down To Write, A Case for Political Conscience containing a preface by the artist, source material from the films and an essay by the artist film maker Stephen Connolly. Sam Stevens is a London based English artist. The visual language established in his work presents the audience with critical yet often poetic forms in film, video and still imagery. Individual works focus on and examine recurrent themes such as the politics and visual codes of landscape, borders, migration, and public space. 2010, 30 min plus book, £25

AnimateTV: 20 Years of Experimental Animation from the UK

AnimateTV was established in 1990 as a unique collaboration between Arts Council England and Channel 4 to support independent production of experimental and artists’ work, selecting projects through an annual open call for proposals. This DVD is a selection of 23 films from more than 100 innovative and challenging films by British artists and animators (Sebastian Buerkner, Sarah Cox, Andrew Kötting, David Shrigley + Chris Shepherd and more).
